Samsung Electronics has officially announced that its next Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on July 22 in London. At the event, the company is expected to introduce several new Galaxy devices, with the spotlight on the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is rumored to feature a shorter and wider design, making it more comfortable to use and providing a better experience for watching videos, gaming, and multitasking. Reports suggest that this new shape is similar to the foldable iPhone that Apple is expected to launch later this year.

Samsung is also expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and a third foldable model, expanding its foldable smartphone lineup. In addition to smartphones, the company is likely to introduce new wearable products, including a Galaxy Watch and wireless earbuds. The redesigned Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to improve usability by offering a wider display when folded. Samsung has already hinted at the new design through the official Galaxy Unpacked invitation and recent posts on its social media channels.

The July launch comes just months before Apple is expected to release its first foldable iPhone. By announcing its new devices earlier, Samsung hopes to strengthen its position in the foldable smartphone market and attract more customers before Apple’s entry into the segment. Meanwhile, Google has confirmed that its next Pixel hardware event will be held on August 12 in New York. Unlike Samsung, Google is expected to focus mainly on software improvements and new AI-powered features, while keeping the design of its upcoming Pixel devices largely unchanged.

Samsung also reported a record quarterly profit of 89.4 trillion won (about $58 billion) for the June quarter. The strong financial performance was driven mainly by growing demand for artificial intelligence technologies and infrastructure. However, ongoing memory chip shortages have increased production costs, raising speculation that Samsung could increase the prices of its new foldable phones after launch.
