Honeycomb is preparing to launch the Echo Aviation Controller XPC, a new version of its compact flight simulator controller designed specifically for Xbox Series X|S. The controller is built for Microsoft Flight Simulator and is expected to arrive in fall 2026. Although Microsoft Flight Simulator is also available on PlayStation 5, this controller will not support Sony’s console.
The Echo Aviation Controller XPC is a 3-in-1 flight control system. Instead of buying separate rudder pedals, a throttle, and a flight stick, players get all three functions in a single compact controller. This design saves space, is easy to carry, and does not require clamps or a permanent desk setup.
The original Echo Aviation Controller is currently available for PC, where it supports Microsoft Flight Simulator and other flight simulation games. It also works with X-Plane on Mac. The new XPC model expands support to Xbox consoles while keeping the same compact design. In previous testing on PC and Mac, the controller delivered a good overall experience. Setting it up in X-Plane 12 was simple, although configuring the rudder controls required some extra adjustments.
The biggest challenge came with Microsoft Flight Simulator on PC. The controller itself performed well, but Microsoft’s control configuration system made the setup process more complicated than expected. Honeycomb currently helps users by offering a downloadable controller profile. For the Xbox version, many players hope Microsoft will include a built-in profile for the Echo Aviation Controller XPC through a future game update, making installation much easier.
Honeycomb has confirmed that the Echo Aviation Controller XPC will launch in fall 2026, but the company has not revealed its price yet. The existing PC and Mac version has also been difficult to find in stores. Honeycomb says new stock will be available soon, although preorders are not currently open.
